Talking about women to women
Okay, I should have posted this earlier, but being my lazy self, I have procrastinated it as much as I could >.<
So, in my previous post, Women and Fingernails, I pondered on the question why are women obsessed with fingernails (hereon referred as the fingernail question
), which BTW no one has given an acceptable answer yet.
But, another amazing fact I learned about women during the post was that – whenever you ask a woman a question about women in general, she thinks you are asking about her or possibly commenting on her or worse yet taunting her.

Don’t believe me?
Let me show you.
When I asked Aishwarya about the fingernail question she in less than two seconds responded “I don’t grow long fingernails”.
With Noopur Didi it was “I don’t have long fingernails”
The first comment by Jayashree had the words “i do NOT fancy keping long nails EVER”
The friend who types in pink in the post also had first replied “I never keep long fingernails”
Even the comment of Priyanka Didi had the words “For the record, I don’t give a rat’s arse about long fingernails. My main priority is to keep them clipped and clean.”
That makes it five. All five women I asked this about, before answering to my question, first clarified that they are not one of those who grow long fingernails!
The more I think about similar experiences in the past, the more similarities I find.
When I was in Mussourie with my sister Neha, I think I told her to check out the girl who was wearing a weird looking hat and she had replied “Bhai main to kabhi aise hats nahin pahenti” English Translation: “Well, I never wear such hats”
Another time, in college I had asked a friend as to why many girls are not participating in the assembly, she had first responded with “I always participate in the assembly”.
I can go on and on with the examples. But, I think you get the point.
Women, think that we (by we I mean men) talk like them. Yes, they think that way. They think we are giving subtle clues and passing sly remarks when we tell them something.
If you have ever, I mean ever, heard two women bitch about talk about another woman, you must have noticed that they pick at each word she had uttered.
Eg :- A girl is asked out to a party. She replies “I am busy tonight, I cannot go to the party”. Lets see how a man and a woman would analyse and reply to this.
Man’s Analysis :- Okay, so she is busy. Lemme see if <instert another woman’s name here> will go.
Man’s Reply :- “Oh okay fine. I’ll catch up with you later”
Woman’s Analysis :- Oh my god! Do you know what she just said? She said that she was “busy”. So, she thinks she is now successful and has no time for friends. She thinks I am free! I am not free. Even I have many other appointments, but just because this party was hosted by a good friend, I took out time to go. How dare she….. <10 minute thought process compressed in two seconds>
Woman’s Reply :- “Even I am busy tonight, but she is such a good friend and I cannot refuse to her. So, what are you doing?”
See my point?
Girls, relax. No one is blaming you. If you grow fingernails, you grow em, so what? Who am I to question the work of a girl?
But women have to think of it in that way! They have very very strong reasons to believe that the person asking the question or talking about something, has framed that question to comment on them!
Why do they do that? I am sure not all do, but still, most of you, why?
Well, another mystery that remains unsolved…

Well, some girls don’t bother about who said what to whom cus it doesn’t bother ‘em or their work in any way. But when they hate someone they definitely point out every word she utters every 2 seconds

It’s Jaishree

U really analyse things very closely. May be girls say so just because they want to show they are different & so the “I” factor comes in.
Nice post.

The really cannot be because there are only two alternatives, either they do like long fingernails/hats/whatever or the don’t. And in both the cases, they are not unique

1. Over analyzing things makes Jack seem like a mad person. Taking most things at face value is great! Almost as great as District 9!*

General Questions:
1. What happened to the Graphic Designer thing?
2. Last.fm still going strong?
3. Is there any hope for mankind to resolve its differences and let the world enter an age of peace? Perhaps a unification wars described here can help: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Unification_Wars_%28Republic%29

Not over analyzing things makes Jack look like Tom.
And enough with the District 9 propaganda!
Answer to General Questions:
1. In progress.
2. Not really. Moved on to portable mp3 player, which Last.fm does not support.
3. No hope.

In the post link above, the man, the seeker, seeks to find out why we, the women, grow fingernails. He asks questions such as ‘why do women grow it? Not even grow, discuss it with passion and put thought into it. Why the obsession?’ and ‘So, I am all clueless here. Please enlighten me. I am hopeful that so many women can’t be wrong. I must be missing something! Let me know in the comments >.<"
Thus, he wants to know why WE grow nails. WE women reply to the question, obviously, telling him why WE grow or not grow fingernails which in terms of a personal pronoun will be 'I' and now that is analysed!
And to top it all, The Great Sir Madan, comments 'Girls, relax. No one is blaming you. If you grow fingernails, you grow em, so what? Who am I to question the work of a girl?'
See MY points? :p :p

You are correct, I did ask the question. But it was not why YOU (not) grow fingernails, it was why the women in general do not grow fingernails.
Also, this explaination does not counter the Neha Didi – Hat incident or the Assembly reply.
Phew!

Lol. I just checked the spam queue. It was marked as spam because of the link and a lot of capital letter usage

*sigh*
Questions give us peace. It is like trying to figure out what is inside the atom or whats beyond the universe. Its never ending.
Then why do I think about that, if it never ending?
Well, I got nothing better to do. Its fun. I like it
Gives me peace.
*sigh* I sound like a nihilist. Am I one?
